about fuzhou

Fuzhou, also known as the City of Banyans, is the capital of Fujian Province. It is situated on the central coast of the province, bordering the Taiwan Straits in the east. It has under its jurisdiction five districts, two cities and five counties. It covers an area of 12,000 square kilometers, and it has a population of 7 million.

The eco-friendly city is a nice place for living. It enjoys good air quality and a pleasant climate and boasts a rich variety of products. Production of aquatic products, edible fungi, tea, fruits and vegetables has achieved economies of scale and becomes a distinctive feature of local industries. Quality hot springs that are widely available have made Fuzhou the indisputable capital of hot springs in the country.

Fuzhou is a national model city of social development and a famous historic and cultural city. It has a rich cultural reserve and many historical relics and antiquities such as the “Three Lanes and Seven Alleys”, which is called the “museum of the buildings of the Ming and Qing dynasties” and the “living fossil of ancient city street system”.
